Ephemeris
Board Game
For this project, we were to create a highly illustrative board game based off of a demographic of our choice – I chose ages 13 and up. I chose to base my gameplay off of the existing game “Clue” and made it zodiac themed. I chose the name “Ephemeris” because it is what gives the trajectory of naturally occurring astronomical objects in the sky. For my design, I wanted to give an overall feeling of mysticism and excitement and this is shown through the colors and illustrations.
For the box, I wanted to showcase all aspects of the game, so I included the zodiac chart representing the game characters, the sword in the middle representing one of the murder weapons, and the planets which represent the locations. The board itself shows all the locations, which are the planets. Star illustrations are also shown as spaces for the characters to move on the board. For the cards, I made three separate sets- one for the locations, which are the planets; one for the weapons, which are objects relating to the zodiacs; and one for the characters, which are the zodiacs.
